Burglary Arrest
NARRATIVE: On 03-12-10 at 0227 hrs officers with the Marshalltown Police Dept were dispatched to a residence in the 100 blk of N 3rd St for a burglary in progress complaint. The responding officers included a police department K9 team.
When the officers arrived they secured a perimeter around the residence and then deployed the K9 team to search and clear the residence. After determining that no one was inside the residence the officers met with the homeowner.
As they were speaking with the homeowner and obtaining information on a possible suspect an officer located the suspect walking in the area. The suspect was stopped and was found to have in his possession property that belonged to the homeowner.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail charged with the following charges. Arrested was one;
Matthew Paul Thompson W.M.39 yrs old. Address 538 N 2nd St. Apt # 2 Mtown, Ia. 50158
Thompson is charged with 1. Burglary 2nd Degree a (Class “C” Felony) 2. Violation of a No Contact Order (Simple Misdemeanor) 3. Public Intoxication (Simple Misdemeanor)
Thompson made an initial appearance in court on Friday 03-12-10 and was held for bond. Thompson remains in the Marshall County Jail on $10,300.00 bond. Back to Police Department news » |
