On 05-17-10 at 0255 hrs Officers with the Marshalltown Police Department responded to 107 W Grant St. for a female who was heard by neighbors screaming for help. When the responding officers arrived they met with the female victim Sarah McGuire who told them that she had been assaulted and injured by an unknown male assailant who had broken into her apartment.

McGuire was transported to MMSC by ambulance where she received treatment for her injuries and was later released.

Officers and Detectives then spoke with several witnesses who provided them with the identity of the suspect involved.

Detectives based upon their investigation were able to obtain a search warrant for the suspect and items of evidence connected to the incident. The suspect identified as Keith Allen Tate was located at a residence in Marshalltown and taken into custody during the execution of the search warrant.

Tate was transported to theMarshalltown Police Department where he was interviewed by Detectives and subsequently arrested. Tate is charged with Burglary 1^st Degree a Class “B” Felony and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
