Drive by shooting
On August 18, 2010 at about 8:45 pm officers from the Marshalltown Police Department were dispatched to 8th Avenue and Swayze Street on the report of possible gunshots. When officers arrived they found that one residence, 802 Swayze St, was hit by a single bullet. The bullet penetrated the residence and a chair inside the residence before coming to rest in a sofa cushion. The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported. The bullet was recovered. It is unknown if the residence was a specific target or a random act, as the homeowner did not know who may of fired the bullet. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the Department requests that anyone with information concerning this incident contact them at 754-5725. Back to Police Department news » |
