Original entrance, and promotion examinations for City employment, within civil service regulations, are given by the Commission, and appointments are made from the qualified Civil Service list. The Commission hears appeals from aggrieved persons holding Civil Service rights upon their removal, demotion, and/or suspension from Civil Service employment.
