Refund Policy On Facility Rentals
Shelters
Parks and Recreation rents several park shelters. To rent a shelter come to the Parks and Recreation office at 10 West State to complete a rental contract and pay the rental fee. There is a $10.00 additional fee to have alcohol. A $100.00 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED BEFORE KEY WILL BE GIVEN TO THE RENTER—IF RENTER DOES NOT FOLLOW ALL THE RULES ENTIRE DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED (rules given at time of rental). Hours for all shelters: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.SHELTERS CANNOT BE USED FOR PERSONAL GAIN (garage sales, dances, merchandise parties)
NO BANDS PERMITTED IN ANY SHELTER.

Cost: $20.00 Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Open Shelters
No Reservations, No Charge, First-come, First-served. Shelters have picnic tables.

Marshalltown Veterans Memorial Coliseum
The Memorial Coliseum is available to rent for dances, sports activities, weddings, receptions and other various activities. The entire building can be rented or just the gym or the Blue Room. The gym has a wooden floor with a balcony and stage. The balcony capacity is 520, the gym floor capacity is 769. The Blue Room capacity is 137. The Blue Room can be rented for small gatherings and/or meetings. It is carpeted and has a small stage. There is a catering kitchen located between the Blue Room and the gym. The Coliseum is a non-alcohol non-smoking facility.

Equipment Rentals
To rent equipment you need to come to the Parks and Recreation Office, fill out a rental agreement and pay the equipment rental cost. All rentals also require a $25.00 refundable deposit.
